How do I schedule an appointment?
Please call our office at 239.322.3817. If we are busy assisting other guests, please leave a message. We will return your call within 24 business hours.
What happens during my first appointment?
During your first appointment, Dr. Alik will spend time with you to review your concerns, including what brought you to treatment today, as well as your medical history, current lifestyle, and treatment goals. After the initial consultation, Dr. Alik will explain his recommended course of treatment for you. You will then begin your first Acu-Healing treatment with Dr. Alik. First appointments are generally 90 minutes in length.
What do I need to wear to my first appointment?
Please plan to wear comfortable clothing to your first appointment. While most treatments are performed while clothed, you may be asked to remove certain clothing items for proper evaluation and treatment. Robes and a private restroom, for changing, are provided for your comfort and privacy needs.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture is generally a pain-free treatment experience. However, some individuals may experience moments of discomfort, particularly when addressing sensitive areas or acute pain. The sensation is often quick to pass, as treatments often provide a relaxing experience during and after the scheduled sessions.
Should you feel any pain or discomfort, please let Dr. Alik know. He will gladly provide the necessary adjustments and a healing touch to alleviate your distress.
What if I’m afraid of needles?
This is a common concern for many of our first-time guests. Please express your concern to Dr. Alik during the onset of your session.
Depending on the condition for which you are being treated, Dr. Alik may be able to adjust the number of needles used. The needles used in acupuncture are extremely thin and often surprise our guests as they do not even feel them being inserted! Once inserted, it is common to no longer feel them; the same is true when removed. The treatment provides a calming experience for many, and most fears are soon left behind.
Should I bring any paperwork?
For your first appointment, please complete the Intake Form before coming to the office. We do not require any additional information or documentation from primary physicians. But please feel free to bring any additional information, including test results, imaging, and other diagnostic records, that may help Dr. Alik better understand your condition.
We provide intake forms in the office should you need to complete them beforehand.
Do you take insurance?
No. We accept cash, personal check, and credit card payments.
How much does it cost?
Your initial treatment is $250. During your initial consultation, Dr. Alik will talk with you to discover your concerns and discuss various treatments and their respective pricing. He will help you select options that best fit your budget while helping you simply feel better.
How many treatments will I need, and how often will I need treatment?
With a thorough consultation and diagnostic process, it’s easier to determine the number of treatments someone will require. However, as a general rule, it’s usually easier to treat recent complaints than chronic, long-standing illnesses. Many chronic issues can be addressed with a regular, committed treatment schedule.
What are the clinic’s hours?
We offer appointments Monday through Friday, 8 am – 8 pm. We also offer Saturday appointments from 8 am until 2 pm. We are closed Sundays and major holidays.
For concierge members, we do offer hours and home visits outside of regular clinic hours. Please contact our clinic to learn how we can tailor a treatment plan that best suits your needs and schedule.
Can I exercise after treatment?
Dr. Alik can discuss this with you during your appointment. Please feel free to contact us before scheduling or as a follow-up to your appointment should you have any specific concerns.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Please contact the clinic as soon as you realize a conflict in your schedule has arisen. There is no fee to reschedule appointments with more than 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled within 24 hours may be subject to a $200 cancellation fee.
